Funin started as a electronica duo founed by Marit Elisabeth Svendsbøe and Øyvind Vie Berg. As the years went by they grew into something bigger.
Today Funin is a little orchestra with seven liveband members. Marit Elisabeth Svendsbøe on vocals and flute and Øyvind Vie Berg on piano and rhodes, Gaute Stedje on vocals and guitar, Aleksander Tveit on guitar, Sissel Ørstavik on violin, Audun Berg Selfjord on cello, Edvard Mjanger on bass and Hans Christian Dalgaard on drums. Through their music they invite you to feel something. Not necessarily good feelings, because Funin think the best music is inspired by life as it is and feelings that come with it. Therefore there is a great specter of emotion in the music. It`s both dark and optimistic.

One of the most interesting bands from Bergen released their debute album to day.
"Unsound" is a wonderful mix of symphonic rock, folk and jazz with a distinctive and experimental sound. In this 7 man orchestra we find instruments like cello, violin and flute. Imagine a mix of Canterbury prog, Radiohead and Björk then you are close to Funin's sonic universe.
You will find the album in our webshop or you can download it on iTunes.

We're happy to announce the signing of the quite young local band Funin. The band has gone from being an electonica duo to becoming an eight piece band. They are recording tracks for what will be their debut album now. Funin delivers both very organic and quite folk inspired rock, mixed with electronica, jazz rock and prog. Expect a highly diverse sound from the band, with great melodies and complex song structures you'll experience a band somewhere between Björk and the Canterburry prog scene. While we're waiting on the album, check them out on their myspace site.
