Skogsprog – Sales campaign

Every week we will have a summer sale campaign focus on a sub-genre, and for the first one on Karisma Records we wanted to look to the very Scandinavian style of Skogsprog, or ‘forest prog’ if you like.

First time we heard the term Skogsprog, was in the early 90’s when bands like Landberk, Änglagård, Anekdoten and Sinkadus appeared. With the combination of the progressive sounds of the 70’s, the more atmospheric and ethereal sides of prog and a distinct hint of Nordic folk music, those bands were often referred to as Skogsprog. In Norway, bands like Nordagust and White Willow was forerunners for the style in the 90s. With the mellotron drenched sound, lots of atmosphere and folkish melodies, these bands got a good following through the 90s. Other bands has emerged later on, and the most notable from Norway has been the Karisma Records bands Tusmørke and Jordsjø

According to the official Norwegian numbers, the forest covers 37 % of the country. So, from Wednesday 27th of May till Tuesday 2nd of May (at 23.59 CET), you will get the following items with a 37 % discount.
